This photo is related to, quite literally, a fire in the night. Apparently a crazy firefighter thought it might be a good idea to drive down the highway with his daughter lighting fireworks from the cab of his car, subsequently starting a fire in the Carlos Avery Wildlife Preserve. On the bright side of the whole thing, nobody was injured and no homes were lost in the fire.
I was also given the unique opportunity to host many of the Fire Departments that were helping with the effort in my front yard. I captured this photo at one of the rare moments when there were not 30 firefighters hovering around the truck, in my yard or trying to raid the Salvation Army truck of it’s precious booty (water, Gatorade, snacks, etc.) It is a fair amount darker than my typical photos, but given the setting and the viewers ability to see the smoke and a little bit of the glow of the fires, I think it is appropriate.

Incredible! Tells a story all by itself.
I was just now searching around about this when I came upon your blog post. I’m just visiting to say that I really liked reading this post, it’s very well written. Are you going to blog more on this? It seems like there’s more material here for more posts.
I will be doing my best to add a new photo everyday, the problem I may be running into is the amount of content I have is limited, I have not been able to get out much and grab photos, though I should have enough to get me through the coming weeks, and after that I should have more content.
As always, feedback is appreciated and I will do my best to incorporate all feedback into the site.
Thank you again,
Jacob
