I was at a party Memorial Day weekend, and this loud bike pulled up. I was very excited to snap a few shots of it, but I was very aware of the challenge it presented, three different light sources, providing three different shades of light. One being amber, one yellow, and one nearly white. I could not very well use the AWB setting, and I was confident the CWB setting would not work well either. So against all hope for a proper white balance setting I settled with tungsten, since all the lights were tungsten. The color of the bike is nearly perfect, yet you can clearly see the different sources of light cast in the area. This shot, I feel, is a perfect example of where a standard approach may not have been possible, and the application of HDR really made this photo shine.
