As some of the Facebook users may have noticed, I added a new Facebook integration feature, in which, when a logged in Facebook user visits the site, and makes a post, their Facebook icon is used as their avatar, with the nifty little Facebook “f” to denote they came from Facebook (I hope that I never use any word that many times in another post again). I think this will be beneficial to many users, as it does not require the input of your basic information, which may deter some people from making posts.
I do hope that the features I have been adding lately are noticed and being used/liked by visitors. As always, if you have any suggestions as far as features are concerned, please let me know. I would also like to start adding contributors to the Plog, so if you are interested in posting some content you may have, Photos, Music, Videos, etc. to the site, please let me know and I will add you as a contributor. I hope that everyone had a good weekend, and I hope that this week has good things in store for all….

I was lucky enough to spend some time with a good friend of mine Andrew. We went on a quick meander down to the William O’Brien State Park and grab a few photos. Unfortunately there was not much of significance with regards to photography, I have only about three photos of note from the day, but I was very struck by this one.
I think that people tend to miss the significance of erosion on the earth, especially in and near river areas. It would be nice to have seen what this area may have looked like hundreds of years ago, and perhaps, due to modern technologies, hundreds of years from now they can look at all of our documentation with photographs and things of the like and see just what the landscape was like in our time.

In light of the death of my childhood hero, and I am sure the same for many others, I will not be posting one of my own photos today.

This was taken on a Saturday late at night in Downtown Minneapolis, not exactly the most comfortable of situations for me with my camera and equipment. I hurriedly set up my camera and snapped some photos from different locations and different angles of this large, old structure.
I really enjoyed the way the “spire” was lit up by the multiple light sources. Though there is some terrible ugliness to this photo, I recently did my quarterly free MacBook upgrade on craigslist in which I sell my current unit at a high price and buy a newer unit at the same price. I got a really good deal on this one since I was able to upgrade from the mid 2008 model to the new aluminum unibody model with the backlit keyboard…
Anyhow, due to my recent upgrade, I do not have the necessary photo editing tools currently installed, as well as the fact that I left my hard drive with all my photos in a place that I currently am not. Fortunately, everything will be resolved tomorrow afternoon, so there will a resurrection of regular posts with some better photos to go along.

Not exactly certain the story behind this particular rock, or why someone took the time to label it “BENZY 14″ in capitalized bold lettering, but it is indeed a nice texture.
I found this one wandering with my friend Steve up at the St. Cloud Quarry Park. We both meandered down to the area and captured some quick shots. It seems that Steve can be a little secretive about his photos, as I am yet to see many from this day, perhaps they are just too good for the general public…
Thanks again Steve, hopefully I can make it up there soon, it sounds like the Pritt’s may have a project for me this summer….

I am going to be adding a new page every month, and keeping an archive of the three favorite photos of the month. As well as a yearly archive of the top 10 of the year.
My primary motivation behind doing this is that I want people to have motivation for voting on my photos, the more photos you vote on the more your voice will be heard in the types of photos I take and display. If I find that people really like photos of dogs, then more dogs it is, if people like photos of nature, then there will be more nature photos, and so on and so forth. I have somewhat of a terrible memory, so if you tell me the types of photos you like to see, I will likely forget and continue on as usual.
So please, vote on the photos, make comments, I really want this to be a fun, living website where people can come and talk about photography, and whatever else they may enjoy, there was a comment in one post about brains coming out of my neck, I was laughing so hard it hurt (Seriously, it really did hurt). There will be a post this evening, so check back if you are interested.

My daily updates have become not so daily as of late, and for that I apologize. It seems I have a lot on my plate to think about currently and I am trying to focus on that at the moment. Updates will resume, as the always do, in due time.
This automobile was in interesting one, for some reason I am thinking 1966 Chevy Impala, though the year may be wrong.
I found this one at a party I had gone to and thought a few photos were necessary, especially the way one tire was parked in the neighbors driveway, almost like, “Yeah, I break rules, what are you gonna do about it?” Must have been trying retain some portion of a rebel past, because in the back seat you could clearly see two car seats… Not the most typical grocery getter, but I would be alright with it too….
Thank you.

So two pieces of good news for everyone today, I am getting out of the hospital tonight, and I have added a new portfolio page. I put a lot of time and effort into the new page, but sadly, right now the results are lackluster. I am going to be trying out some themes for it and hopefully find one I like, at which point I will tell everyone the url of both and ask for opinions.
So the current stats on My Release are as follows:
I got downgraded with:
-1 drain removal
-1 NG tube removal
-3 Food intake
-6 Food-throat accuracy
and upgraded with:
+1 Home status (with a +10 Freedom modifier)
So all in all it is about a wash, but as far as my personal RPG stats are concerned, I got an overall XP of +1,000, and +500 respect. So all in all, perhaps the time was worth it…?

So in this photo, the way I see things is that some days, some cold rainy days, the reality and the gravity of a given situation really just hits you. No matter how many times you may have convinced yourself that things will get better, some days, you just know, they really won’t. Some people are just stuck with what they are handed and there is no trading in the cards for new ones.
Some people cry, some hide what hurts, I just accept it. There is not much that I am able to do about it, and it is what it is, no more, no less. The glass is not half full or half empty, the glass just is. It does not get much more basic than that. My situation just is.

After a good bit of wandering in the rain I found a welcome reprieve in the form of the Duluth Train Museum. I was outside at first unaware of exactly where I was and I had just assumed I was probably not supposed to be on the train tracks and confident I may have been trespassing. After snapping a number of photos of various trains and train-like structures. After being told it was a museum I decided the minor expense would be worth the price. Grabbed a ticket, my camera and started shooting photos.
However, this was an especially difficult shot, since the conditions were very dark I had to do long exposure shots, and I tell you, this is difficult to accomplish when people have no regard for a photographer and that walking in front of one is something you are somehow “expected” to do, because everyone that could, did.
